Our concept - «The Authentic Japanese Restaurant» in the heart of Basel
The Minamoto stands for an authentic Japanese experience in the middle of Basel. The Japanese chef, Rikio Iwata, is a proven, experienced and creative chef who completed several years of solid training as a chef in Japan.
Our concept is based on the Izakaya tradition, which means "sake shop to sit in". Daily fresh-cooked and individually arrangeable Japanese dishes and specialties such as tempura, sushi or tataki to choose from. The restaurant is designed in a modest Japanese style and offers plenty of space for wonderful moments. Japanese beer, sake as well as Japanese whisky round off our offer.
Rikio Iwata and his team aim to offer their guests a warm and authentic Japanese experience in all aspects.
